In case you didn’t know – 1702 not only offers some of the most delicious slices in town, but we also have Calzones! A little backstory, calzones originated in Italy, specifically in Naples – the pizza capital of the world. “Calzoni” actually means “trousers” in Italian. This name was assigned to the dish after the men at the time who wore baggy trousers and walked around eating these folded, half-moon shaped variations of pizza. The calzoni were actually meant to be eaten without the use of utensils, so that they can be enjoyed on-the-go.

At 1702, any of our 12 specialty pizza toppings can be made into a calzone, or you can build your own! Beginning with our blend of spices, mozzarella and ricotta, you can add any of our wide assortment of meats, veggies, and cheeses — the possibilities are endless! Our specialty calzones range from traditional topping combinations to our unique and tasty creations for a mouthwatering, savory dish.

Meat lovers will love our Meata calzone – stuffed with pepperoni, Italian sausage, salami, meatball, and ham. A fan of pineapple on your pizza? Try our Islanda calzone – stuffed with pineapple, ham, green pepper, feta and garlic. You are sure to love the Buffalo Chicken calzone – stuffed with buffalo-tossed chicken, red onion, bacon, or, for a taste of the southwest, try the Mexicali calzone – stuffed with chorizo black olives, garlic, green chile and tomato.

Our menu also offers a number of vegetarian friendly calzones. Try the Italia — stuffed with spinach, basil tomato, feta and garlic, or The Presto – NO RED SAUCE, stuffed with pesto sauce, sun-dried tomato, red onion, and artichoke hearts.

Dine in or take-out, our calzones are made-to-order so that you get a fresh, hot calzone the way you like it, right out of the oven! Come by for a calzone and an ice cold craft beer today!
